Application Process

1. Research the requirements of the DTV application from the embassy or embassies that you are considering applying to. Also check to see if they will have specific requirements for your nationality. Some embassies will have different requirements for different nationalities. We also suggest looking at social media forums like facebook that specialize in Thai visa subjects or the DTV. Other peoples experience will prove invaluable.

2. Decide where you will apply if you are not in your home country and book your tickets. You cannot apply within Thailand and so much apply outside. Many of our members have taken flights to a nearby country and applied there. The processing time ranges from a few days to up 2 weeks (in rare cases).

3. Sign up for training with Tiger Eye below. We have multiple packages each suitable for the different goals and requirements of individuals. You can make payment via WISE, Paypal, or Thai BankTransfer.

4. Send us an email to [email protected] with your payment slip, passport page, the embassy you will apply to and date of intended entry to Thailand. We will send you your document packet within 48 hours.

FAQ

How long does the DTV last?

The DTV carries a 5-year validity, which is broken down over 180-day increments/ extensions.

Is the DTV single or multiple entry?

The DTV is a multiple-entry visa, meaning you can exit/re-enter Thailand as often as you like without the need of a re-entry permit.

Where can I apply for the DTV?

You can apply with any Thai embassy, although each embassy may have slightly different application requirements, so please check their website before applying. Please note that the DTV can NOT be obtained inside of Thailand.

Do I need to prove my income for this DTV option (Category #2)?

You don’t have to prove your income, however, you will have to prove that you have a minimum of 500,000 baht saved in a bank account. The bank account can be in any country, it doesn’t have to be in Thailand.

What kind of documentation can you provide for me to apply for the DTV?

We understand that different embassies may require different documents. Typically we will provide you with your course invitation letter and receipt. However, if you wish we can provide the additional documents: Company Registration, Proof of Muay Thai Gym Registration, Photos of training facility, ID copies of gym owners. If you have any additional unique requirements please check with us and we will do our best to provide you with those as well.

How can I pay?

If you are based overseas we prefer payment via bank transfer or WISE app. If you are currently in Thailand, you can pay by cash, card or QR code.

What happens if my DTV application is rejected?

If the DTV application is rejected, you can choose to either take a partial refund, or you can retry at another Thai embassy. We will issue new documents at no additional charge if required. If documents need to be sent by post, that would be the applicant’s responsibility. If the applicant wishes for a refund they must show evidence that the application was rejected because of the of the documents issued by Tiger Eye, and not a result of not fulfilling the other clear requirements i.e the proof of funds. We will not issue refunds in cases of single month deposits. In the case of 3 month and 6 month package we will refund everything minus a document fee (5,000 baht).

I’m a beginner to this type of training, can I still join?

Everyone started as a beginner at some point. We have beginners join us all the time. We pride ourselves on offering authentic Muay Thai and MMA training in an environment where everyone feels welcome and everyone learns and gets better. Once you start training you will quickly find out that you can train alongside people of many different levels and everyone is getting something out of training.

I have an injury/physical disability, can I join the training?

Many of our students have joined us with varying injuries/physical difficulties and have done well. We will make sure our coaches are aware and mindful of your situation before you begin the course, so we can adapt your study accordingly. Can you take the payment for the DTV application fees too? We can only accept the course and documentation fees, all other application fees must be paid directly to the Thai embassy.

I have heard that 1 month course is not enough for the DTV, is this true?

As of January 2025, we have had members apply using the 1-month unlimited plan. This plan is a DEPOSIT and is stated as such in our documents. Even if you were to commit to training with Tiger Eye for 5 years, it would be reasonable to pay only a deposit first. If you do a 4-year university degree, you do not pay for all 4 years upfront. You pay a semester at a time. Of course some embassies or nationalities may require proof of more than one month payment, but that is up to you to decide what is the best fit for you. You can always upgrade from 1 month to another plan if your embassy requests.

What are the minimum study requirements to maintain the DTV?

There are no minimum study requirements, you’re welcomed to train as often or as little as you wish.
